Equifax Data Breach
The number of individuals who have been harmed or may in the future be harmed by the Equifax data breach continue to grow. As more executives continue to testify in front of congress, class action lawsuits have been filed across the United States.
The data breach may have caused over 100 million individuals information to potentially be exposed. If this data falls into the wrong hands, serious financial damage may occur. The reason that this data breach is particularly serious, is because of the information that may be exposed. Equifax is one of the major credit reporting agencies in the United States. This means that they have highly sensitive information about consumers such as social security numbers, addresses and account information.
Growing concern is also occurring after executives are said to have sold significant amounts of company stock before the data breach became public.
